Promoting Community Resilience
At South Amman Flour Mills (SAFM), we believe that empowering and strengthening communities is a collective responsibility to which we all must contribute, and that is not possible unless healthy and safe food is available to individuals.
Therefore, we have decided to collaborate with the Takaful Charitable Organization to sponsor one of its programs, the charitable “Bread Loaf” Campaign, which is an ongoing everyday program to provide bread to families in need.
South Amman Flour Mills (SAFM) is the largest flour mill in Jordan and has a production capacity of 1000 tons per day.
It is a member of Al-Hazza Investment Group, whose main vision is to contribute to the stability of food security and sustainability in the region, aiming towards the full realization of the fundamental human right of access to adequate, high-quality food.
Al-Takaful is a non-profit charitable entity, operating independently and officially licensed by the Ministry of Social Development in Jordan. Its mission is to contribute to the advancement of the nation and the welfare of its citizens through core initiatives such as distributing bread across Jordan to those in need.
We at South Amman Flour Mills proudly support their Bread Loaf campaign.
The campaign aims to meet poor and orphan families’ daily bread needs, by providing daily coupons and disbursement directly from approved and nearby bakeries. This also helps turn the wheel of the local economy by operating bakeries.
Our flour donation serves as the foundation for the bread, which is then distributed to needy families in the Ramtha governate of northern Jordan. This campaign serves as a lifeline for many families struggling to make ends meet.
Moreover, the initiative prioritizes nutrition and health, recognizing the importance of providing quality food to vulnerable populations.
Through partnerships with healthcare providers and nutrition experts, the campaign ensures that recipients receive not only bread but also vital nutrients essential for their well-being, through fortifying the flour supplied for the campaign.
Each year on World Flour Day we honor the significance of flour, recognizing its pivotal role in sustaining communities. This year, amidst the global challenges we face, we are reminded of the profound importance of giving back.
We extend our gratitude to the World Flour Museum for spearheading this initiative, inspiring awareness and encouraging acts of generosity. As producers of flour and food, we are steadfast in our commitment to nourish communities, uplift spirits, and pave the way for a brighter future for all.
